FAQ
What are dead pixels?
Dead pixels are pixels on an LCD screen that cannot display properly. Bright spots appear as white or colored on a black background, dark spots appear as black on a white background. A small number of dead pixels is acceptable within industry standards.
How to properly test for dead pixels?
1) Clean the screen surface; 2) Test in normal lighting; 3) Use solid color backgrounds (black, white, red, green, blue); 4) Carefully observe each area of the screen; 5) Record the location and type of dead pixels.
Is it normal to see color banding in gradient tests?
Slight color banding may be normal, especially on lower-end displays. But if the banding is very obvious, it may indicate insufficient color depth or driver issues. High-end displays should show smooth gradients.
What if grid lines are not clear?
Possible reasons: 1) Incorrect resolution settings; 2) Scaling not at 100%; 3) Display not using native resolution; 4) Cable quality issues. It is recommended to check display settings and use native resolution.
Troubleshooting
Problem:Cannot enter fullscreen mode
Solution:Some browsers require user gesture to enter fullscreen. Make sure to click the test button instead of using keyboard shortcuts. If still unable to fullscreen, try using F11 key to manually fullscreen.
Problem:Patterns not displaying correctly
Solution:Try refreshing the page. Check if browser supports fullscreen mode. Ensure graphics drivers are up to date. Try using a different browser.
Problem:Cannot exit fullscreen
Solution:Press ESC key to exit fullscreen. If ESC doesn't work, try pressing F11 or click the exit button. As a last resort, use Alt+F4 (Windows) or Cmd+W (Mac) to close the window.
